Engineering Design and Quality Control

MCG is dedicated to quality for each process involved in the final assembled product. We routinely create project-specific testing procedures and programs to assure compliance to our customers’ design criteria.

MCG’s engineers use an array of sophisticated development tools, including proprietary design software that has been developed and improved over the last two decades. In addition, we use a variety of commercial software packages including 2D, 3D and magnetic FEA (Finite Element Analysis).

Our engineering department applies its suite of development tools to accurately determine and simulate the operating performance of all components before any hardware is built. Once a design is finalized, individual components are fabricated or procured to exacting specifications and assembled in our prototype department. Our prototype department is equipped with all of the necessary tools to support the build process, including experimental winding, magnetization, and rotor balancing.

Our capabilities include:
  • Engineering design and consulting
  • SolidWorks solid modeling
  • Flux and magnetic modeling
  • Rapid prototyping supported by a full-capabilities machine shop
  • High-volume and short-run production
  • Automatic armature winding
  • Automatic BLDC winding
  • CNC machining
  • Computerized testing
  • Automated computerized dynamic balancing
  • Noise and vibration analysis
